Job Description
As an Apprentice Software Developer Trainee, you will step into an accelerated learning environment, gaining hands-on exposure to enterprise software development lifecycles. Your role has a direct impact on the broader Philips mission—you will assist engineering squads in writing, testing, and debugging code that supports global health technology ecosystems.
Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, you will experience immense professional and personal growth. You will be paired with seasoned developers who will mentor you on modern coding standards, agile methodologies, and healthcare compliance. We believe we are better together than apart; therefore, you will collaborate with your team in person at our Bengaluru office at least 3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
Learn and apply basic software development principles under the guidance of senior engineering mentors.
Assist in writing, testing, and documenting code for internal and customer-facing health tech applications.
Participate actively in agile team ceremonies, including daily stand-ups and sprint planning sessions.
Collaborate with quality assurance teams to identify software bugs and execute fundamental troubleshooting.
Engage continuously with Philips’ internal learning resources to build technical competencies and domain knowledge.
Skills & Eligibility
You are the right fit for this role if you meet the following criteria:
Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma combined with an active student status or current enrollment at a University, College, or Vocational Education institution.
Experience: 0 years of experience. No prior professional experience is required—this is a pure fresher/apprentice role.
Technical Aptitude: A strong foundational interest in computer science, software programming, and basic logic structures.
Soft Skills: Eagerness to learn, strong problem-solving mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a hybrid team environment.
