Job Description

  • As a Solutions Engineer at MISUMI Americas, you will report directly to the Global Solution Engineering Director. You will act as a pivotal link bridging complex North American client requirements with reliable, practical production lines. Your daily operations will directly impact customer experience by minimizing quoting time and identifying production bottlenecks before they reach the factory floor.
  • The position is optimized for an engineer who thrives in an active, supportive team structure built on creative liberty and continuous technical education. You will review highly intricate 3D CAD geometries, evaluate design parameters across global shipping boundaries (US, India, China, and Mexico), and directly advise procurement managers on finding the right equilibrium between production speed, financial budget, and raw material quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurate Cost Estimation: Provide precise, rapid price quotes and manufacturing timelines for advanced CNC machining workflows and custom component lines.
  • DFM Analysis: Execute Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews to catch geometric challenges, suggest key alternate changes, and mitigate dimensional errors.
  • Engineering Drawing Verification: Interpret structural blueprints, material specifications, and comprehensive Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) metrics.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with internal Sales, global Sourcing, Quality Control, and external manufacturing partners to streamline fulfillment logistics.
  • Customer Consultation: Interface directly with US-based product design teams to clear up technical parameters, source hard-to-find materials, and offer optimized process modifications.
  • Platform Automation: Utilize internal digital manufacturing software environments to automate manual quoting loops and separate fast-track designs from high-touch edge cases.

Skills & Eligibility

  • Academic Foundation: Holder of a 4-year professional Mechanical Engineering degree or a matching high-level technical training domain.
  • Practical Tech Knowledge: Foundational familiarity with CNC machining processes and 3D printing configurations is an absolute requirement.
  • Engineering Literacy: Robust conceptual grasp of coordinate tolerancing standards alongside regular mechanical drawing conventions.
  • Manufacturing Versatility: Academic or practical exposure to multiple unique fabrication structures (such as sheet metal stamping, injection molding, and urethane casting).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent, crisp verbal and written English communication capacities, suitable for navigating complex calls with foreign stakeholders.
  • Work Ethic: High inclination toward clean documentation, meticulous precision, and autonomous project tracking within designated night-shift brackets.
