Job Description
As a Software Engineer II, you will be instrumental in programming, testing, documenting, and delivering high-quality systems application software. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design secure and scalable solutions that align with business needs. Your role bridges the gap between development and operations, ensuring seamless CI/CD processes and maintaining MasterCard’s rigorous quality assurance standards.
You will be expected to rapidly learn new technologies, evaluate technical alternatives, and continuously improve process efficiency. This role demands a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to thrive under pressure to meet critical deadlines within a globally distributed project matrix.
Key Responsibilities
Software Development & Support: Take charge of programming, testing, implementing, and supporting systems application software in compliance with MasterCard standards.
Solution Design: Develop secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions based on strict technical requirements and design artifacts.
Technical Evaluation: Actively research, create, and evaluate alternative technical solutions to address evolving business needs.
Documentation & Auditing: Create detailed systems and testing documentation, adhering to department standards and Audit Requirements.
Quality Control: Strictly follow MasterCard’s Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes while supporting the collection of project metrics.
Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement opportunities to enhance technical standards and improve operational process efficiency.
Skills & Eligibility
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field (B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc).
Experience: Overall career experience of 2 to 3 years in Development or DevOps environments.
Programming Proficiency: Strong programming abilities in one or more modern languages such as Java, Python, or C++.
DevOps Expertise: Solid knowledge of CI/CD concepts and DevOps principles, with practical exposure to tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Git, shell scripting, and Zabbix.
Core Foundations: A strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and fundamental computer science concepts.
Soft Skills: High energy, detail-oriented, and highly motivated. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational capabilities, and a strong collaborative spirit.
