Job Description

As a Software Engineer at Gallagher, you will be a key contributor to the software development life cycle (SDLC). Your role involves individual coding tasks as well as assisting team members with complex programming work using C# and .NET Core . You will be responsible for documenting technical specifications, user guides, and requirement sets. You will also participate in architectural solution discussions, ensuring that all deliverables align with Gallagher’s enterprise standards and cloud-first strategy.
You will work within Agile and Scrum methodologies, participating in design, code, and test reviews. This role requires strong debugging and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex technical challenges. Beyond coding, you may take on project management responsibilities when necessary and mentor junior team members. At Gallagher, you will be expected to keep abreast of the latest technical advances, particularly in Angular and web services , to drive innovation across our distributed project teams.

Develop and maintain web-based applications using ASP.NET MVC and C# .
Write optimized SQL Server scripts using T-SQL for data management.
Design and implement frontend interfaces using Angular , HTML, and CSS.
Participate in architectural discussions and write detailed technical specifications.
Perform code reviews and refactoring to ensure adherence to OOD principles.
Follow established Agile/Scrum processes for continuous software delivery.
Identify ambiguity in requirements and drive for technical clarity with stakeholders.
Collaborate with global teams to ensure security best practices are implemented.

Education: Bachelor’s in Engineering, MCA, or Master’s in Computer Science.
Mandatory Skills: C# .NET, SQL Server, ASP.NET MVC, .NET Core, and Angular.
Legacy/Additional: Knowledge of VB .NET, DNN, SSRS, or SharePoint is a plus.
Foundations: Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and patterns.
Security: Awareness of web application security best practices and data protocols.
Certifications: Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) is desirable.
Soft Skills: Ambitious mindset with excellent verbal and written communication.
