Job Description

As a Junior Backend Software Engineer at Finominal, you will dive straight into processing real financial datasets, live user requests, and critical API production logic. Your core mandate centers on making the platform faster, safer, and inherently more reliable. You will proactively target web security vulnerabilities, isolate slow API endpoints, and eliminate relational database bottlenecks before they impact end-users. This role provides intense engineering growth by blending traditional backend performance tuning with modern AI integrations.
You will write clean, well-tested Python code and build automated monitoring metrics, dashboards, and production alerts using telemetry tools like Sentry and Grafana . To keep engineering velocities high, you will leverage advanced artificial intelligence tools to automate internal deployment workflows and contribute directly to building AI-driven product features. Working in an agile, lean development structure, you will collaborate continuously with senior leadership to maintain stable cloud service delivery lines.

Design, code, test, and scale backend services and high-throughput application frameworks.
Improve API processing latency, testing coverage, runtime monitoring, and production system stability.
Investigate production anomalies, trace database execution bottlenecks, and close web security gaps.
Build live operational dashboards, telemetry alerts, and system health metrics using Sentry and Grafana .
Leverage artificial intelligence utilities to automate internal engineering workflows and build automated testing rules.
Contribute directly to the research, development, and integration of AI-driven product capabilities.
Review system database schemas, optimize complex SQL queries , and maintain clean database mappings.
Participate in design syncs and maintain code repositories using structured branching models inside Git.

Education: Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
Experience: 0 to 2 years of professional software engineering exposure. Talented freshers with deep programming passion are highly encouraged to apply.
Programming: Strong, practical programming proficiency in Python .
Backend Basics: Clean conceptual understanding of backend infrastructure, API design rules, relational databases, and core web security layers.
Highly Valued Frameworks: Hands-on exposure to Django, FastAPI, Flask , or closely related Python web modules.
Database & Tools: Familiarity with PostgreSQL , crafting efficient SQL queries, managing code via Git, and working in Linux terminal environments.
Bonus Assets: A strong curiosity regarding AI-assisted coding tools and a genuine interest in finance, quantitative data, or investment platforms.
Work Style: Comfortable working directly from Finominal’s Bangalore corporate office every day (Full-Time, On-Site).
