Job Description

As a part-time Software Engineer at Ameya HQ, you will play a key role within our distributed technology team, taking hands-on responsibility for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions. Your operational focus will center primarily on building clean, modular business logic layers and optimizing database-driven back-end systems. You will systematically test and debug backend components to ensure maximum platform performance, data integrity, and runtime reliability.
Operating in a remote workflow, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional product and design teams to implement intuitive user-facing features and enhance overall platform responsiveness. You will adhere to strict corporate coding standards, document system dependencies, and execute collaborative team tasks utilizing modern version control models. This position offers a highly autonomous workspace, allowing you to refine your application design skills while working on features that scale up local business discoverability.

Design, code, test, and sustain reliable server-side application features and components.
Write clean, efficient, highly maintainable code blocks following Object-Oriented design principles.
Troubleshoot runtime platform bottlenecks, execute diagnostic runs, and fix complex back-end bugs.
Collaborate with cross-functional remote squads to implement functional logic and elevate user workflows.
Manage codebase changes, track code branches, and manage pull requests utilizing modern Git repositories.
Optimize server-side computation logic and database transactions to safeguard low-latency platform scaling.
Contribute directly to technical process optimization and systemic reliability reviews.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent quantitative discipline is preferred.
CS Fundamentals: A strong structural understanding of foundational Computer Science principles and application algorithms.
Programming: Proven expertise writing clean code using Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) paradigms (e.g., Python, Node.js, Java, or C#).
Backend Power: Solid theoretical or practical exposure building back-end systems, routing frameworks, or RESTful API connectors.
Tools: Comfortable managing source code history, creating branches, and tracking changes within version control systems like Git.
Bonus Profiles: Preliminary working knowledge of database management systems (SQL/NoSQL) or modern cloud deployment infrastructures is a plus.
Soft Skills: Outstanding analytical problem-solving skills, high personal accountability, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
