Job Description

  • As an SRE Engineer at LSEG, you will execute reliability engineering practices to support our Risk Intelligence platform. Your role focuses on maintaining SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets to ensure our financial data services stay resilient. You will participate in incident response, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and develop automation for operational tasks. This role involves managing a complex infrastructure-as-code environment using Terraform and GitHub Actions across both Azure and AWS cloud services.
  • You will implement advanced observability dashboards using Datadog and OpenTelemetry , and support the maintenance of the Kong API Gateway and Snowflake data platforms. Following ITIL practices, you will use ServiceNow for workflow automation and ensure disaster recovery (DR) readiness. At LSEG, you will collaborate with cross-regional teams to embed reliability into the product delivery lifecycle, ensuring cost efficiency and compliance with global financial standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Error Budgets.
  • Lead incident response, post-incident reviews, and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Develop automation scripts using Python and Bash for operational efficiency.
  • Manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform and GitHub Actions.
  • Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and deployment automation.
  • Build observability dashboards using Datadog, BigPanda, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Support Kubernetes (K8s) orchestration and Docker containerization.
  • Coordinate with global SRE teams on regional initiatives and service requests.
  • Ensure runbook accuracy, compliance readiness, and cost-efficient scaling.

Skills & Eligibility

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Cloud: Strong experience with Azure and AWS cloud services.
  • Tools: Proficiency in Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins.
  • Observability: Hands-on with Datadog, OpenTelemetry, and BigPanda.
  • Data/APIs: Familiarity with Kong API Gateway , Snowflake, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB.
  • SRE Principles: Deep understanding of operational metrics and SRE methodology.
  • Process: Experience with ServiceNow and ITIL-aligned service management.
  • Soft Skills: Strong troubleshooting ability and proactive communication.
