Key Responsibilities

  • As an Associate Software Engineer at Global Payments, you will support both on-premises and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) based applications, debug production code, and automate manual processes.
  • Monitor, debug, and maintain high-concurrency payment processing applications running on-premises and on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Write and execute complex SQL and PL/SQL queries to troubleshoot data anomalies, fix code defects, and perform production application support.
  • Develop and maintain Python and Unix Shell scripts to automate routine operations, eliminating repetitive manual tasks.
  • Monitor enterprise batch jobs, workflow schedules, and data processing automation using scheduling platforms (such as Control-M, Dollar Universe, or Composer).
  • Quickly gain domain understanding of core enterprise payment applications to resolve production incidents within defined SLAs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, system health checks, and application enhancement cycles.

Skills & Eligibility

  • Minimum 16 years of formal education with a degree in B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or allied engineering disciplines.
  • 0 to 1 year of professional experience in IT production support, application engineering, or software maintenance.
  • Good proficiency in Python programming.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL / PLSQL with the ability to write, analyze, and debug complex queries.
  • Basic command line and scripting experience in Unix / Linux operating environments.
  • Familiarity with enterprise batch scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M, Composer, $U, or similar platforms).
  • Flexibility to work in 24/7 rotational shifts in an IT production support setup.
  • Basic knowledge of public cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform / GCP, AWS, or Azure).
  • Working knowledge of Ab Initio (ABI) for issue fixing and ETL code enhancement.
  • Advanced Shell scripting and Python automation capabilities.
