Job Description

As a Software Test Engineer at BrickRed Systems, you will be responsible for the end-to-end testing lifecycle of web and mobile (Android & iOS) applications. Your role involves designing and executing comprehensive test plans, covering functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing . You will leverage your coding skills to develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium with Java , ensuring robust cross-browser and cross-device coverage.
Technical depth is key—you will conduct REST API testing using Postman to validate payloads and status codes, and perform database testing on MongoDB to verify data integrity. You will be actively involved in the agile cycle, reviewing user stories for testability and using bug-tracking tools like JIRA to log, track, and coordinate defect resolution with the development team. Additionally, you will support performance optimization efforts using tools like JMeter to identify system bottlenecks.

Design and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts based on business requirements.
Perform manual testing (Sanity, Smoke, Exploratory) across web and mobile platforms.
Develop and maintain Selenium-Java automation scripts for regression suites.
Conduct REST API testing using Postman to validate request/response integrity.
Verify database consistency and performance on MongoDB post-migration.
Identify, log, and track defects using JIRA, coordinating with Dev teams for closure.
Support performance and load testing initiatives using JMeter.
Collaborate in Agile ceremonies and review requirements to ensure 100% test coverage.

Education: Technical degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields.
Automation: Hands-on knowledge of Selenium with Java .
Manual Testing: Strong understanding of Functional, Regression, and Integration testing.
API & DB: Proficiency in Postman (REST) and basic MongoDB/SQL .
Bug Tracking: Experience with JIRA or equivalent defect management tools.
Good to Have: Knowledge of Cucumber/BDD , JMeter, and DevOps basics.
Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, debugging, and cross-team communication abilities.
