Key Responsibilities
- As an Analyst in BlackRock’s Investment and Portfolio Solutions technology desk, your daily milestones will center on the following software delivery items:
- Modular Architecture Build: Developing highly scalable, clean, and modular backend tools in Python to process enterprise financial data points across multiple cloud environments.
- Project Execution & Scoping: Mapping tactical short-term data adjustments and planning long-term software paths that align cleanly with broader technological goals.
- Execution Deliverables: Driving standalone modules through independent development, testing, validation, and release cycles within an active engineering squad.
- Technology Evolution Watch: Auditing and adopting up-to-date code patterns, performance updates, and data practices internally to maintain high standards.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Interfacing across diverse regional teams, asset management groups, and portfolio consulting desks to translate financial requirements into code.
Skills & Eligibility
- BlackRock is evaluating technical candidates who display strong programmatic logic alongside an active interest in portfolio management data frameworks:
- Educational Background: Full-time Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, or Quantitative Sciences.
- Core Programming (Mandatory): Expert-level conceptual and hands-on familiarity with Python and relational database language engines utilizing SQL .
- Frontend & Interface Formats (Plus): Basic exposure to web styling layers or UI programming using TypeScript, Angular, or React is highly advantageous.
- Ecosystem Toolkits (Beneficial): Any prior project exposure or knowledge covering the following specialized technology infrastructure blocks: Data & APIs: Snowflake Data Warehousing, Flask API creation, and Streamlit rapid app frameworks. Cloud & DevOps: Microsoft Azure instances, Redis caching memory structures, and containerized deployment arrays using Docker.
