Skills & Eligibility

  • Candidates must have a B.E./B.Tech degree in one of the eligible branches listed by Zycus:
  • Computer Science Engineering (CSE)
  • Information Technology (IT)
  • Electronics
  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML)
  • Data Science
  • Related engineering branches
  • Candidates from branches not explicitly named should check with the recruitment team or the official application requirements to establish whether their degree branch qualifies.
  • This opportunity is intended for candidates graduating in 2026 . Applicants should ensure their graduation year matches the requirement before starting the application.
  • Zycus specifies a minimum academic score of 80% or equivalent CGPA in all three stages :
  • Class 10 (10th standard)
  • Class 12 (12th standard)
  • B.E./B.Tech degree
  • The requirement applies to each academic stage, not just the aggregate degree score. Candidates should check their marksheets and confirm that they meet the stated threshold or its accepted equivalent CGPA.
  • The listing states that applicants must have no active backlogs and no history of backlogs or arrears .
  • This is a strict criterion as written in the job description. Candidates who have had a backlog or arrear in the past should not assume that clearing it makes them eligible. They should seek clarification from Zycus before applying if their academic history does not clearly meet the condition.
  • Candidates should have a strong understanding of core computer science topics, including:
  • Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA)
  • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • Database Management Systems (DBMS)
  • Operating Systems (OS)
  • Computer Networks
  • Good programming skills in Java are preferred. However, the listing also accepts programming ability in another object-oriented programming language.
  • Applicants should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn new technologies. An interest in AI-assisted software development should be evident through projects, hackathons, internships, coding competitions, or open-source contributions.

An interest in AI-assisted software development should be evident through projects, hackathons, internships, coding competitions, or open-source contributions.
  • The position is centred on Java backend development and AI-assisted engineering. The following technical skills are useful for candidates preparing to apply.
  • Strong Java fundamentals are preferred. Candidates should be comfortable with object-oriented programming concepts, classes, interfaces, collections, exception handling, and writing understandable code.
  • Basic knowledge of Spring Boot or another backend development framework is listed as a preferred skill. Candidates should understand how backend applications process requests and interact with databases or other services.
  • Applicants should be familiar with REST APIs and basic web technologies. Understanding HTTP requests, response codes, API endpoints, request and response data, and service integration will be useful for backend tasks.
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases is preferred. Candidates should understand how structured data is stored and queried, and should have a basic understanding of tables, keys, relationships, and common SQL operations.
  • Familiarity with Git and version control systems is listed as a preferred skill. Candidates should understand how to track code changes and collaborate on software projects.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, or AI development tools is considered an advantage. These are additional skills rather than a replacement for the required programming fundamentals.
  • A notable aspect of this position is its emphasis on using AI tools as part of the software development workflow. Zycus expects candidates to be interested in applying AI tools productively while continuing to understand the code they build.
  • Relevant tools mentioned in the job description include:
  • GitHub Copilot
  • Other AI-assisted coding and development tools
  • Candidates should be ready to discuss how they use these tools for learning, coding, debugging, writing tests, or documenting software. Practical examples from personal projects or academic work can help demonstrate their interest.
  • Exposure to LLMs, Generative AI APIs, agentic AI frameworks, or AI-powered applications is an additional advantage. However, the listing does not state that prior professional AI development experience is mandatory.
  • Candidates should have a B.E./B.Tech degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, AI/ML, Data Science, or a related branch.
  • Java fundamentals, Spring Boot, backend development, REST APIs, SQL, relational databases, and Git are listed as preferred skills. Exposure to cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, and AI development tools is also an advantage.
