Job Description

As an SDET-1 within the Quality Engineering team at WeWork, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring the reliability, quality, and performance of our proprietary products. By utilizing a strategic combination of manual testing and cutting-edge automation, you will help maintain a strong quality culture across the organization.
You will work very closely with Developers and Product Owners to define comprehensive test strategies, understand complex product requirements, and deliver high-quality software releases with minimal defects. Your proactive approach to identifying test automation areas will directly contribute to enhancing the overall testing framework.

End-to-End Testing: Perform thorough manual testing to identify defects, validate new features, and guarantee robust product quality.
Test Strategy & Planning: Collaborate with Developers and Product Owners to define requirements, design test strategies, and participate actively in test planning and execution.
Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts tailored for web, mobile, and API platforms.
Release Management: Ensure smooth, timely product releases by taking ownership of the QA process across the entire product lifecycle.
Framework Enhancement: Identify critical areas for process improvement and actively contribute to maintaining and upgrading the test automation framework.

Testing Fundamentals: Strong grasp of manual testing concepts, including rigorous test case design, effective bug identification, and detailed reporting.
Programming: Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, with a strong preference for Java.
Automation Tools: Hands-on familiarity with tools and frameworks like Selenium, Maven, TestNG, Page Object Model (POM), Playwright, and Load Testing (e.g., n8n, Jmeter).
Platform Knowledge: Solid understanding of Web application testing, Mobile application testing, and backend API testing.
Bonus Advantages: Experience with AI-powered automation tools (like TestSigma, Cursor), understanding of Model Context Protocols (MCPs), and exposure to Sprint/Agile environments will be a distinct advantage.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving mindset coupled with excellent communication skills for collaborative team efforts.
