Job Description
As a Software Engineer at NetApp, you will be part of an exceptionally talented engineering team responsible for driving product development, test plans, and automation. Your primary focus will be delivering innovative technologies that meet competitive market and customer requirements with enterprise-class quality. You will be involved in the end-to-end development lifecycle, from high-level architecture to systemic testing and long-term maintenance of existing storage products.
The role requires deep technical proficiency in Systems Engineering. You will apply your knowledge of operating systems, file systems, and computer architecture to build scalable data solutions. Your responsibilities include hands-on testing, integration, and performance scaling. Working collaboratively across teams, you will ensure that NetApp’s technologies remain at the cutting edge of the storage and cloud industry.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain high-performance software using C/C++ in Linux/Unix environments.
Apply standard software engineering practices to design scalable and maintainable systems.
Collaborate on product development, including high-level design and feature implementation.
Drive automation and systemic testing including Scale, Regression, and Integration testing.
Work with internal teams to enhance existing technologies and address customer requirements.
Optimize system performance and troubleshoot complex issues within file systems and networking.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for design, testing, and operational runbooks.
Ensure product quality meets enterprise-class standards before market release.
Skills & Eligibility
Education: B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech/PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Programming: Strong development experience with C/C++ is mandatory.
Environment: Proficiency in LINUX/UNIX systems and shell scripting.
Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of Computer Architecture, OS, File Systems, and Algorithms.
Testing: Practical experience in Automation, Integration, System, and Scale testing.
Preferred: Knowledge of storage technologies (SAN, NAS) or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills for global collaboration.
