Job Description

  • As a Junior DevOps / CI-CD Engineer at HARMAN, you will play a foundational role in automating build, test, and deployment workflows across the software delivery lifecycle. You will assist senior architects in building and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and Jenkins , ensuring that application code moves securely and rapidly from development into production environments.
  • Your day-to-day operations will involve heavy interaction with modern containerization technologies. You will work with Docker to containerize microservices and support basic operations and deployments within highly scalable Kubernetes (K8s) environments. Operating within an Agile framework, you will troubleshoot pipeline execution failures, apply Linux fundamentals, and write automation scripts using Python or Shell to drive continuous improvement initiatives across development and QA teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing, building, and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitLab CI and Jenkins .
  • Containerize scalable applications and microservices using Docker .
  • Support deployment operations and monitor pod/service health on Kubernetes (K8s) environments.
  • Monitor daily CI/CD pipeline executions, troubleshoot build failures, and streamline software delivery times.
  • Write and execute basic automation scripts using Python or Shell .
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional Development and QA squads to isolate integration bugs.
  • Adopt and enforce best practices for modern cloud infrastructure management, version control (Git), and microservices architecture.
  • Participate proactively in Agile ceremonies and infrastructure improvement hackathons.

Skills & Eligibility

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related engineering disciplines.
  • Experience: 0 to 1 year of experience. Candidates with hands-on internships, academic DevOps projects, or cloud labs are highly encouraged to apply.
  • CI/CD Basics: Solid foundational understanding of continuous integration pipelines (exposure to GitLab CI or Jenkins).
  • Containerization: Hands-on academic or project experience building containers with Docker and basic knowledge of Kubernetes architecture (pods, deployments, services).
  • OS & Scripting: Clear familiarity with Linux operating system fundamentals and basic scripting knowledge (Shell / Python).
  • Bonus Assets: Preliminary exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices concepts, or certifications related to Docker/AWS is a massive plus.
  • Work Mode: Readiness to work from the Bangalore office all 5 days of the week.
