Key Responsibilities

As a Resident within Google’s Global Infrastructure network organization, you will contribute directly to production tasks:
Infrastructure Collaboration: Connect and coordinate with senior Googlers to actively plan, deliver, deploy, and operate high-capacity networking systems across global zones.
Rotational Experience: Move through two distinct Network Implementation Engineering core rotations to understand internet scalability and infrastructure operations.
Automation Engineering: Innovate and build scripted tools to introduce automation layers, clean infrastructure configurations, and refine everyday team processing guidelines.
Technical Support Matrix: Manage real-time problem tracking, trace network bottlenecks, configure system files, and secure optimal routing pathways.

Academic Baseline: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or a matching quantitative technical background.
Prior Exposure: Practical internship experience across data center administration, system configuration, technical client support, or network engineering tracks.
Core Fundamentals: Sound grasp of networking protocols and structures including TCP/IP, ARP, IP Tables, and structural routing mechanics .
Systems & Coding: Experience handling Unix or Linux systems administration combined with software development familiarity in Java, C, C++, Python, or Shell scripting .
Preferred Traits: High adaptability to shifting project roadmaps, clear organizational skills, self-motivation, and sharp collaborative communication.
Rotational Placement Structural Note: The first 16 months at Google will operate on a specialized rotation pathway structured to build technical agility. Successfully finishing the target criteria sets a clear direct line for immediate transition into regular full-time, permanent corporate engineering engineering roles.
