Job Description

As a Software Engineer I through the American Express Recruitment 2026 drive, you will design, develop, test, and maintain high-availability software applications. You will operate in a dynamic, cross-functional environment where writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code is paramount.
This role demands a solid foundation in data structures and algorithms, strong problem-solving capabilities, and a collaborative mindset. Whether you are debugging complex systems or participating in deep technical code reviews, your analytical skills will directly contribute to delivering high-quality, secure financial solutions.

Design, develop, heavily test, and maintain scalable software applications for enterprise use.
Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to industry best practices.
Leverage strong analytical skills to solve complex technical problems and debug cross-system issues.
Collaborate continuously with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, Ops) to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
Actively participate in code reviews, technical architecture discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance across various internal systems.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Experience: Open to both Freshers and Experienced candidates. Prior internship or project experience is highly preferred.
Core Fundamentals: A strong foundation in advanced data structures and algorithms.
Programming: High proficiency in at least one major programming language such as Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript .
Tools & Platforms: Familiarity with version control (Git), APIs, database management, and cloud platforms or web/mobile development.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, strong teamwork abilities, and a basic understanding of modern software development principles.
