Job Description

This six-month internship has been specifically designed to provide critical operational support to the Planning & Reporting team within Siemens Energy’s Digital Functions organization. The primary business driver for this role is to alleviate the workload of the existing team by independently handling the recurring execution of multiple Power BI reports on a monthly basis. This role gives you a unique 60/40 split between steady operational execution and exciting developmental enhancement tasks.
You will take charge of executing monthly report refreshes, troubleshooting basic failures, and performing routine data validation. Additionally, you will support senior team members by gathering new change requests, adjusting visuals, creating simple DAX measures, and assisting in the S4E Integration Test Cycle (ITC) for SE’s largest business transformation program. This is an ideal stepping stone for a student looking to master enterprise reporting concepts.

60% Power BI Report Execution: Execute monthly refresh and distribution pipelines for multiple existing Power BI reports according to established schedules.
Monitor automated data refresh processes, troubleshooting basic failures to guarantee report accuracy and availability.
Perform routine data validation and quality audits to maintain the integrity of financial and operational datasets.
40% Reporting Enhancement: Assist in gathering and documenting minor change requests from business stakeholders.
Implement basic report modifications under supervision, including adjusting visuals, updating filters, and creating simple DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) measures.
Support senior team members in testing and deploying report updates to the wider business.
Take overall responsibility for the setup and operations of the S4E Integration Test Cycle (ITC) .

Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field (Must not have graduated yet).
BI Proficiency: Foundational knowledge of Power BI and data visualization concepts; academic or personal project experience with Power BI is highly advantageous.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with writing DAX formulas.
Analytical Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of data validation processes.
Soft Skills: Strong eagerness to learn, proactive mindset, good time management, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
