Job Description
As an AI Intern at Quest Global, you will play a key technical role in designing scalable, real-time integration systems. You will work closely with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), and advanced robotics solutions such as Geek+ and Exotec. Your efforts will directly connect robotics, conveyors, scanners, PLCs, and warehouse execution workflows.
You will collaborate with solution architects, operations teams, and robotics vendors to develop robust APIs and event-driven middleware. This is a highly hands-on role requiring ownership of technical delivery, strict attention to detail, and a deep focus on system scalability and fault tolerance in high-volume environments.
Key Responsibilities
System Design: Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable applications and middleware utilizing AI and advanced automation concepts.
Robotics Integration: Build real-time integrations between WMS/WCS platforms and hardware systems, including AMRs/AGVs, Geek+, Exotec, and conveyor systems.
API & Middleware Development: Develop APIs and event-driven services using protocols such as REST APIs, WebSockets, TCP/IP, and MQTT (OPC UA is a plus).
Enterprise Connectivity: Seamlessly integrate custom solutions with enterprise systems including ERP, MES, and warehouse platforms.
Performance Optimization: Optimize system performance, reliability, and fault tolerance specifically for high-volume warehouse operations.
Quality Assurance: Ensure software quality through unit testing, integration testing, and active participation in CI/CD practices and code reviews.
Skills & Eligibility
Core Language: Strong hands-on experience and proficiency in Python.
Architecture Knowledge: Experience building distributed, integration-heavy applications with a solid understanding of multithreading, asynchronous programming, microservices, and event-driven systems.
Databases & Messaging: Proficient in SQL Server / PostgreSQL and message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Azure Service Bus).
Domain Experience: Knowledge of warehouse automation concepts (WMS, WCS, robotics integration, material handling systems) and real-time data processing.
Preferred Qualifications: Exposure to Kubernetes/Docker, high-availability systems, industrial automation, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) is highly preferred.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, excellent communication capabilities, and the ability to thrive in an onsite-offshore collaboration model.
