Job Description

As an Associate Software Engineer at Ontic, your primary focus will be contributing to the backend services that power our SaaS platform. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers to implement well-defined features and components. This role is a perfect blend of hands-on development and technical growth, where you will learn to write production-grade code that meets global engineering standards.
You will be responsible for building APIs and data models using Java and Spring Boot , while managing high-volume data with MongoDB and Elasticsearch . Your role includes participating in code reviews, debugging issues in both development and production environments, and gaining familiarity with logging and system reliability concepts. Contribute to building backend services and features using Java and Spring Boot .
Implement components and tasks for the Ontic Connected Intelligence Platform.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established standards.
Participate in code reviews and apply feedback to improve system quality.
Build a deep understanding of APIs, data structures, and backend algorithms.
Support basic debugging and issue resolution in production environments.
Collaborate with product teams to deliver assigned tasks within deadlines.
Develop familiarity with cloud platforms and modern development tools.

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fields.
Experience: 0 to 2 years (Internships and personal projects are highly valued).
Programming: Foundational knowledge of Java or similar OOP languages.
Tools: Familiarity with Spring Boot, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch is a plus.
Fundamentals: Basic understanding of data structures, algorithms, and web development.
Version Control: Experience with Git is mandatory.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and effective communication.
