Job Description

  • As an Associate Trainee at Kimberly-Clark’s Sricity Mill, you will work in a manufacturing environment focused on producing high-quality consumer products. The role involves operating and maintaining equipment used in the production, packaging, and distribution of Kimberly-Clark products.
  • The position combines machine operation, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, quality assurance, production monitoring, electrical systems, utilities, safety, and lean manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain production and packaging machinery according to established procedures.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Prepare, load, splice, unload, thread, and route raw and packing materials.
  • Recheck products after material splicing and other machine-related operations.
  • Troubleshoot machine breakdowns, quality defects, and short stops.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) to identify the causes of machine and production problems.

  • Maintain material traceability reports, production records, packing logbooks, and other operational documentation.
  • Perform real-time variable and attribute quality checks on products and packaging.
  • Record inspection results accurately in quality systems and relevant documentation.
  • Ensure non-conforming products are properly identified, segregated, rechecked, and placed on hold when required.
  • Operate machines according to defined centerline and GRS settings.
  • Monitor critical machine settings and production KPIs.
  • Support achievement of Volume, OEE, Waste, Performance, Quality, and Safety targets.
  • Perform pack-count, product-size, and tier changes using QCO and lean principles.
  • Accurately record downtime, waste, production, and machine-performance data in MIS systems.
  • Perform Cleaning, Lubrication, Inspection, and Tightening (CLIT) activities.
  • Conduct visual equipment health checks involving temperature, vibration, lubrication, and abnormality identification.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance and systematic spare replacement.
  • Support hot-melt equipment cleaning and parts refurbishment activities.
  • The Associate Trainee role covers several areas of plant operations. Candidates should understand that this is not limited to operating a machine. The position requires employees to contribute to equipment reliability, product quality, safety, and plant performance.
  • Maintenance: Employees will perform cleaning, lubrication, inspection, tightening, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, spare replacement, equipment checks, and overhauling of units and modules.
  • Quality: The role requires compliance with GMP, QMS standards, product verification procedures, real-time inspections, variable and attribute testing, grade-change inspections, packing and artwork checks, and product clearance procedures.
  • Production: Employees will operate machines, maintain critical settings, monitor production KPIs, troubleshoot short stops and breakdowns, and record production and downtime information.
  • Continuous Improvement: The role involves lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, QCO principles, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Safety is a major part of this Associate Trainee position. Employees are expected to follow Kimberly-Clark safety rules and procedures while working around industrial machinery and plant equipment.

Skills & Eligibility

  • Education: ITI qualification in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), or Electronics & Communication (E&C).
  • Experience: This is an Associate Trainee / entry-level manufacturing position.
  • Machine Operations: Ability and willingness to operate production and packaging machinery.
  • Maintenance: Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance concepts.
  • Mechanical Skills: Basic knowledge of machine components, lubrication, inspection, tightening, troubleshooting, and spare replacement.
  • Electrical Skills: Relevant knowledge for candidates from EE/EEE backgrounds, including motors, VFDs, panels, transformers, HT/LT systems, and plant utilities.
  • Quality: Understanding of quality checks, GMP, QMS, product verification, and documentation.
  • Safety: Ability to follow safety rules, SOPs, LOTO procedures, work permits, risk assessments, and emergency response procedures.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Familiarity with 5S, Kaizen, RCA, QCO, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Documentation: Ability to accurately maintain production, maintenance, quality, and traceability records.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing and shop-floor environment.
