Job Description

  • Eaton Corporation’s elite Brightlayer Cloud division is architecting a next-generation Internet of Things (IoT) foundational framework. Operating with the fast-paced, high-impact agility of a tech startup backed by Eaton’s expansive global reach, this project serves as the core framework supporting consumer-facing industrial cloud solutions. As an Associate Software Engineer, you will contribute directly to the architecture, using technologies across NoSQL data stores, microservices, big data processing pipelines, and modern DevOps execution models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the collective architecture, design, and end-to-end implementation of the Internet of Things ecosystem using C# (.Net) and Python.
  • Author modular, clean, and robust software solutions backed by detailed unit-testing suites.
  • Demonstrate and map engineering solutions clearly using architectural flowcharts, data diagrams, clear code comments, and runtime performance analysis scripts.
  • Provide data-driven development work estimates and participate actively in team-wide code reviews and design iterations.
  • Execute iterative agile work sprint schedules to maintain consistent, incremental enterprise project delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with technical quality assurance groups to verify comprehensive test coverage, debug edge-case software faults, and build automated test scripts.
  • Continuously learn and keep pace with emerging engineering frameworks, cloud infrastructure techniques, and modern programming languages.

Skills & Eligibility

  • B.E / B.Tech in an engineering discipline.
  • 0 to 2 years of progressive exposure or active internship experience in the software industry designing and shipping clean, high-quality technical code.
  • 0 to 2 years of hands-on familiarity working within the C# programming language and the Microsoft .Net framework ecosystem.
  • Proficient working knowledge of C#, .Net Core components, and associated Development IDEs (such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, or IntelliJ).
  • Foundational understanding of database engines, query constructs, and data models across relational (SQL Server) and non-relational systems (Cosmos DB, MongoDB).
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, complex algorithms, data structures, and multithreading configurations.
  • Clear comprehension of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) methodologies and clean-code design paradigms.
  • Basic familiarity with global cloud hosting platforms like Microsoft Azure or AWS.
  • Understanding of baseline application security structures, including encryption protocols, TLS certificates, and secret key management.
  • Familiarity with common networking protocols and connection sockets (HTTP, TCP, WebSockets).
  • Strong application debugging and system-level logical troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical ideas clearly within agile team standups.
