As a Google Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will operate in a hands-on technical capacity to deploy, configure, maintain, and support resilient cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. You will handle day-to-day administration of cloud resources, drive infrastructure-as-code automation initiatives, and maintain robust cloud governance structures under the mentorship of senior systems engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Provision, configure, scale, and optimize core GCP infrastructure components including Compute Engine VMs, persistent disks, Cloud Storage buckets, VPC networks, and Cloud Load Balancers.
Support day-to-day compute, storage, and cloud networking operations, ensuring continuous infrastructure availability and optimal system performance.
Implement and govern rigid IAM roles, access policies, service accounts, and manage project-level configurations.
Accelerate system provisioning cycles through automation, writing reusable scripts and Terraform configurations.
Configure monitoring graphs, metric dashboards, log sinks, and alerting policies utilizing the Google Cloud Operations suite.
Perform routine infrastructure operations, covering system patching, snapshots, automated backup cycles, Instance Group autoscaling, and metadata resource labeling.
Troubleshoot infrastructure degradation or complex connectivity faults, resolving bottlenecks and escalating critical matters systematically.
Support incoming project onboarding workflows and landing zone alignment under defined security parameters.
Maintain high-quality technical documentation, operational runbooks, and cloud configuration records.
Collaborate actively with core platform, network engineering, IT security, and application development teams to fulfill deployment demands.
Skills & Eligibility
Applicants must possess a B.E., B.Tech, M.E., or M.Tech degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an allied technical engineering field.
Experience: 2 to 4 years of proven hands-on experience actively administering GCP production infrastructure landscapes.
GCP Services: Solid working familiarity with core GCP resources including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Persistent Disk, Virtual Private Clouds (VPC), firewall rules, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Cloud Key Management Service (KMS).
Networking: Thorough understanding of enterprise networking fundamentals, covering TCP/IP stack, DNS configurations, subnets, routing protocols, and firewalls.
Automation & Scripting: Practical experience working with Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks (Terraform or Deployment Manager) along with automation scripting through gcloud CLI, Python, or Bash.
Observability: Experience tracking application and infrastructure health via GCP monitoring and logging tools (Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Audit Logs).
Governance: Explicit awareness of cloud security paradigms, IAM principle of least privilege, resource labeling schemes, and foundational cloud governance.
Exposure to establishing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tooling pipelines such as Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
Basic understanding of corporate GCP resource hierarchies (Organization, Folders, and Projects), Enterprise Landing Zones, and the official Google Cloud Architecture Framework.
Familiarity tracking GCP quotas/limits and setting up cloud cost-optimization best practices.
Professional Certifications: Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer or Cloud Digital Leader credentials will be highly regarded.
