Job Description
As an IT Student Intern at Cummins, you will work closely with software and AI teams. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Data Prep: Cleaning, processing, and analyzing raw datasets to prepare them for modeling.
Model Training: Assisting in the development and fine-tuning of Machine Learning models (classification, regression) and modern AI systems (NLP/LLMs).
Evaluation: Tracking performance metrics (such as F1-score and AUC-ROC) and optimizing model accuracy.
Integration: Working with software development teams to deploy models via APIs seamlessly into application workflows.
Skills & Eligibility
Eligibility: Must be a Final year (4th Year) B.Tech student majoring in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or a related engineering stream.
Coding: Strong proficiency in Python with hands-on experience using Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-Learn.
Frameworks: Practical project experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Databases: A solid understanding of SQL for effective data extraction and manipulation.
Core Theory: A good grasp of data structures, algorithms, probability, and statistics.
Nice-to-Haves: Experience with LLMs, Hugging Face, LangChain, Git/GitHub version control, and Docker basics.
